Today, we joined the Zambia Congress of Trade Union (ZCTU), Zambia Federation of Employers (ZFE), and the employees in Livingstone district to celebrate the “May Day” under the theme “Accelerating Job Creation for Economic Growth “.

The theme resonates very well with the United Party for National Development government’s agenda of creating an enabling environment for job creation especially in the private sector.

As a government, we remain resolute and committed to protecting the rights of the employee and at the same time ensuring that the employer (business) finds it easy to do business in the commerce space.

May I take this opportunity to congratulate the employees for being the drivers of our economy.
